If you’re looking for the best family photo locations in Central Florida, you really cannot go wrong with a beautiful garden setting! As a photographer, I’m always drawn to locations that offer variety, natural texture, soft light, and a timeless look in photos. Whether you’re planning a family session, maternity session, or milestone photos, choosing the right location makes a huge difference!
Three of my favorite family photo locations in Central Florida are Harry P. Leu Gardens, Dickson Azalea Park, and Rockledge Gardens. Each one has its own feel, and each photographs beautifully for different reasons.
1. Harry P. Leu Gardens
Harry P. Leu Gardens is one of the most well-known garden locations in the Orlando area, and for good reason! The gardens span 50 acres and offer an incredible mix of walking paths, greenery, blooms, open lawn areas, and tucked-away corners that create a magical backdrop for portraits.
What I love most about Harry P. Leu Gardens for photos is the variety. You can get elegant garden portraits, more natural and playful images, and classic greenery-filled backgrounds all in one session. It’s especially beautiful for couples, maternity sessions, and families who want an enchanting outdoor look.
Because the gardens are so expansive, it also helps sessions feel relaxed. We can move through different areas and create a gallery that feels diverse without needing to change locations. It is one of the best places for pictures in Orlando if you want a timeless, lush backdrop. The gardens are open daily, which also makes planning easier!

2. Dickson Azalea Park
Dickson Azalea Park is one of Orlando’s hidden gems. The park is known for its shady trees, picturesque landscape, birds, and flowing water, giving it a quieter and more intimate feel than some of the larger, more visited locations around Central Florida. It also features the historic Washington Street Bridge, which adds character and charm to portraits.
This is such a great choice for clients who want something natural and relaxed. The mature trees create beautiful filtered light, and the pathways, water, and greenery all work together to create soft, organic images. I especially love this spot for family photos and couples sessions because it feels peaceful without looking overly manicured.
Dickson Azalea Park is also a great option if you love the look of a garden setting but want something that feels a little more tucked away and less formal. It has that classic Florida park beauty that photographs so well year-round. The park is open from sunrise to sunset.

3. Rockledge Gardens
Rockledge Gardens is a beautiful location for sessions if you want a lush, colorful, and slightly more unique garden backdrop outside of Orlando. Located in Rockledge, this five-acre garden destination offers gorgeous plant life, charming pathways, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that works beautifully in portraits.
One of the reasons I love Rockledge Gardens for photos is that it feels vibrant and layered. There is so much texture, color, and visual interest, which can make a gallery feel rich and full without overwhelming the subjects. It’s especially lovely for maternity, motherhood, and family sessions.
Rockledge Gardens is open daily, making it another convenient choice for planning a session. If you’re located on the Space Coast or want a garden location that feels a little different from the usual Orlando spots, this is absolutely one of the top photo locations in Central Florida to consider.
