I absolutely loved this fun-filled family photo session at North Avenue Beach in Chicago with the sweet Murray family! North Avenue Beach is one of my favorite Chicago locations! Located in Lincoln Park, North Avenue Beach is one of Chicago’s most popular beaches and covers roughly 875,000 square feet. The uninterrupted (and stunning) views of the Chicago skyline always make for the perfect city photo backdrop while the beach and lakefront path provide an endless amount of options and beautiful scenery for photos! Not to mention, it is the perfect location for capturing the true spirit of summer with warm sunshine, cool water, and endless room for your little ones to have fun and play!
The Murray family’s session took place nice and early in the morning, right after the rain ended and just before the beachgoers started flocking to the lake in order to soak up the weekend sun! We were rewarded from our early morning start with clear skies, bright blue water, and plenty of room to roam and explore. Although there were a few exciting distractions, this location was perfect for two year old Zoe! Eight month old baby sister Maya didn’t explore as much as her big sister, but we did have the chance to witness her first mouthful of sand, yum!
One of my favorite parts of this session was watching the love between these sweet sisters, Zoe and Maya. Zoe was such a sweet big sister, always willing to give a big hug to Maya, although sometimes she was a little overzealous and hugged Zoe a bit too tight! As a nice reward for all of their happy smiles the Murray family finished up their session with a little fun in the sand and a swim in the lake. In my opinion, there is no better way to end a session than with a fun family beach day as the cherry on top to finish up!
