I have to admit that I do not get many requests for outdoor family photos in the middle of winter in Chicago, but they are always so much fun that I don’t even feel cold despite the chilly temps! The Gause family was visiting from sunny California for the new year and I was so excited to have the chance to spend an hour in the snow with them at Milton Lee Olive Park.
Olive Park is always a great photo location with the row of beautiful arching trees and views of Lake Michigan, but it can tend to be a bit crowded during the spring and summer. It was the perfect location for this winter session though, as we basically had the park all to ourselves which gave the three Gause boys – David, Lucas, and Daniel, plenty of opportunities to enjoy Chicago’s winter. Despite being outside of their normal beach weather, these three had a blast running, throwing, and even tasting Chicago’s snow.
